Glasgow musician Alec Cheer, also known as Cheer, makes music that feels both intimate and expansive. His work floats between various genres but is rooted in guitar, piano, and field recordings. Loops, textures, and layered atmospheres that flow together to create sound worlds that are reflective, dreamlike, and quietly transformative.

Since the early 2000s, Cheer has released a steady stream of albums and EPs on independent labels such as Benbecula, Apollolaan, Drifting Falling, and At War With False Noise, as well as through his own imprint, Macrowhisker.
